THE SECOND ACT · FOR CHURCHES

Count What Remains

Faith Changes the Script.

A film can begin a conversation. These resources help a group stay with the difficult questions afterward.

Explore the resources and register your church's interest. Screening dates and release availability will be announced as the film moves toward completion.

AN HONEST CONVERSATION

Bring the questions
you actually have.

Audrey's faith has room for a question: why did God let this happen?

Henry teaches Audrey that she can tell God the truth. After his death, Daniel stays beside her without explaining away her pain. Count What Remains turns to Scripture to explore Christian hope, responsibility, and forgiveness through this family's choices. Romans 8:28 is a promise of God's work for good, not a claim that the loss itself was good.

May must learn to seek Audrey's good and keep small promises. Audrey can forgive her mother while retaining boundaries as trust grows. The study leaves room for uncertainty and encourages practical care. A participant can speak, listen, or pass.

SAMPLE DISCUSSION

The people in front of us.

Read Philippians 2:3-5.

Kelly cares about Audrey, but she needs Daniel to ask before deciding that they will become her guardians. A generous purpose does not remove another person's right to answer.

  1. Why does Kelly need to be asked, even though she already cares?
  2. What does the passage ask us to notice about another person's interests?
  3. Who should have a voice in a decision you are making?

Practice: ask what help would be useful before deciding what to offer. Agree on one realistic next step.

Read the full biblical passage in your preferred translation. This sample introduces the approach; the complete collection includes story spoilers and leader guidance.

START WITH INTEREST

Tell us about
your church.

We welcome churches and ministry partners in the United States, Hong Kong, and Chinese-speaking communities internationally. A small group of church partners can review the resources and help shape an initial screening and discussion program. We welcome ideas from local leaders, including Chinese-language adaptations. Tell us whom you hope to serve, which language would be useful, and what you would need to review. No screening commitment is required to begin the conversation.
